Outdoor Fun

I like playing outdoors also. This is me and dad playing on my jungle gym (I do smile sometimes when I play, just not this time)

Toys, Toys, Toys

I've really started playing with all of my toys a lot. They are a lot of fun. These are just some of them.

Just Chilling This Week

After all of the excitement of last week, I had to take a week off on the blog to relax. Not too much happening over the last seven days. One night, the family went to dad's work for an employee picnic. I went swimming a few times in my pool and I am really moving around everywhere now. Mom and dad had to babyproof the house this weekend and Mia has to hide from me at all times or I will pull her tail.

The best news of the week is that my buddy Owen is doing better now after having to have surgery. I hope we can play together again really soon.

Party, Party, Party

After my baptism, mom and dad threw a huge party for me to celebrate all of the great things that have happened the last couple of days. All sort of family members came over and we had a great lunch (ok, technically they had a great lunch while I watched). Later in the day, other friends came over, including a bunch of kids. I had a lot of fun playing with everyone but it wore me out. I was so tired after everyone left.
What a great last couple of days I have had. Thank you to everybody who has done so much to make my first six-plus months so special for me, mom, and dad.

Baptism

I was baptized this morning at church. Rev. Kim had a very nice ceremony for me at the start of the church service. I was shocked when she poured water over my head but everything was all good when everyone clapped for me at the end. I had a lot of family members come to watch me be baptized which made it even more special.

ADOPTION DAY!

It's official. I am now legally Bryan Lee Newton!
Me, mom, and dad went to court in Illinois this morning to finalize the adoption. We talked to our lawyers for a little bit and then we all stood up for the judge when he came in. The first thing he did was give me a gift, a very nice teddy bear. After my parents got sworn in, one of the lawyers asked them a couple of questions. After that, the judge said the adoption was finalized and I legally got my new name. I will get a new birth certificate and everything. Needless to say, all three of us were very excited. We celebrated by eating lunch at Chevy's in O'Fallon, Ill., the same place we ate our first meal together back in January.

Ouch! More Shots

Good news. My sixth-month checkup went really good. I weighed 15 lbs. 10 oz. and was 26 3/4 inches tall. The doctor said I was very healthy and I can do even more things now like eat meats and drink water. The only bad news is that my parents let the evil nurse stick me with a needle THREE times.

Happy Birthday USA!

I've learned another new trick. I will stand up with help from mom and dad. I am getting very strong!

I am not too steady on my feet.

But mom is here to catch me when I get wobbly.

So, the United States is 234 years old. (If you count the Declaration of Independence as the starting point). We celebrated by going to the St. Charles and the O'Fallon festivals. Fireworks aren't for me this year, and I will be asleep before they begin. We tried to keep things simple because we have a lot going on next week.
